I made this helmet for Dulle Griet in my thesis production out of blocked industrial felt.  I covered it in leather and painted it with acrylic paint mixed with silver bronzing powder, then finished it with FEV.  I also made the hair ornament shown below out of vacuform, then used the same silver paint mixture to finish the piece.
